Poems for Plants

Poems for Plants is a concept design for a voice interactive watering artefact for houseplants. The motivation behind this project is to give agency to houseplants and allow them to have active role in people-plant interaction, rather than a being a passive object. I was inspired by the slow process of plants and wanted to explore ways to reflection this through the slow and gentle interactions that utilise technology to subtly enhance an experience rather than simply replace a task.

Alone Together

Alone Together is design research project that explores how communication technology can foster the sense of togetherness during physical distancing. This project was motivated by COVID-19 as people turned to communication technology to feel a sense of social connectedness while physically distancing. My main inspiration for this project was the way in which both people and communication technology are creativity adapting to physical distancing.

The Parliament of Species

The Parliament of Species is a digital platform that allows citizens to co-create futures while engaging with the issue of antimicrobial resistance. The motivation behind this project was to create an online space that allowed citizens to build upon each other’s ideas and collectively imagine possible futures together. The main inspiration for this project was the game exquisite corpse in which participants take turns to collectively draw a picture.

Cybercops

Cybercops is a co-design project with Malmö International High School that aims to re-imagine interactions on social media to foster healthy digital behaviour. The motivation behind this project was to create a safe space for the students to feel comfortable, heard and to encourage critical thinking, self-refection and creativity through a series of workshop methods.
